Access Partners functions within a strategy that we and others call Business as Mission (BAM). In the 10/40 window, we use BAM to facilitate the ultimate goal of planting Biblical indigenous churches there.

Church planters in the 10/40 window establish legitimate businesses so that they are able to enter and stay in a country that otherwise would be closed to the gospel.

Access Partners focuses helping church planters with the business requirements of implementing BAM strategy.  We do this through three main initiatives:

1) Developing Replicable Businesses
2) Recruiting Experienced Professionals
3) Funding Viable Startups

Developing Replicable Businesses
Access Partners aims to find 3-5 business models that will work in the 10/40 window business climate. By seeking to focus on a small number of businesses types, we are able to efficiently analyze which models work best in different contexts and deploy these businesses more quickly with the experience of implementing the same business elsewhere. Since we have the opportunity to work with multiple church planting teams, we are also able to grow our knowledge base on what models work or don?t work for BAM purposes.

Recruiting Experienced Professionals
Most of the time, church planters do not have sufficient background or experience to set up or run these businesses. They?ve rightly spent most of their time honing skills useful for building a church up from ?ground zero.? It is then a daunting task to quickly learn how to do business in an environment where it?s most challenging to do so due to corruption, political and social unrest, or weak economies. What we?ve found is that by recruiting people who have experience to come alongside them?whether it?s experience relating to international governments or simply being an entrepreneur for a number of years?the church planting teams become stronger and are able to take on this work.

Funding Viable Startups
Like any business, these companies need capital to get started. We are building a network of ?Kingdom Investors? who are willing to take part in BAM through funding these ?Great Commission Companies.? We believe that by focusing on the first two initiatives?making sure that we have the right business model and the right people to run it?the funding be easier to raise.
